Brain is an important organ in the body, this organ controlling the whole body by its comment. This is the most complex organ in the human body. The computer needs a Central processing unit(CPU) for doing several actions, the same way the human body needs a brain; not only human beings, most living things need a brain for doing actions and several activities in the body.
Structure of Brain
The structure is very complicated. This 1.5 kilogram weight organ is the seat of intelligence, interpreter of the senses, initiator of body movement, and controller of a person’s behavior. It is present in its prominent bone shell and washed by protective fluid, it is one of the important sources of all the qualities that define our humanity. It is like a crown jewel of the human body.Â
It has several parts and doing action together, but each part has its own special task or job. It is classified into three partsÂ
- The forebrain.
- The midbrain.
- The hindbrain.
Hind-Brain
The hindbrain contains the topper part of the spinal cord, the stem, and a wrinkled ball of tissue called the cerebellum. It controls and operates the body’s important functions such as respiration, heart rate, maintain healthy heart functions, optimal sleep and wakefulness. When you play the guitar or kick a football, you are activating the cerebellum; because the cerebellum coordinates movement and is involved in learned movements.
Mid-Brain
The midbrain is an uppermost part of the brainstem, which controls few reflex actions and is part of the circuit involved in the control of eye movements and some other voluntary movements.Â
Fore-Brain
One of the largest and most highly developed part is the forebrain. It consists mainly of the cerebrum. Around the world most people see images; they commonly see the cerebrum. The cerebrum is placed at the topmost part. It stores your old and new memories and allows you to make a new plan, imagine, and think. It allows you to recognize your school and college friends, relatives, read, write and play games.
The cerebrum is separate into two hemispheres by a deep fissure. The two cerebral hemispheres share or exchange information with each other through a thick tract of nerve fibers that present at the base of this fissure, called the corpus callosum. However the two hemispheres seem to be mirror images of each other, they are not the same. The ability to form a sentence or speak a word seems to lie mainly in the left hemisphere, while the right hemisphere seems to control several reasoning skills.
Most of the signals from the brain to the body and vice-versa; This means that the right cerebral hemisphere mainly controls the left side of the body, and the left hemisphere mainly controls the right side of the body. Unfortunately, if one side is damaged, then automatically the opposite side of the body is affected. For example, if a person has a stroke in the right hemisphere it can leave the left arm and leg paralyzed.
Amazing Facts about Brain
- Brain has more Fat: The human brain is made up of more than 60 percent of fat. The fats present not only make it the fattiest organ in the human body, but these fatty acids are very important for the performance. So people should keep it active and also provide enough nutrition to the organ for better performance.Â
- Fully developed: Human brain isn’t fully formed in childhood, it will take 25 years to fully develop. The development starts from the back of the brain and starts doing action on its way to the front.Â
- Storage Capacity: Nowadays so many storage devices are available on both offline devices and online sites. Naturally it has storage capacity. Human brain’s storage capacity is virtually unlimited. According to research, several health experts suggest that it consists of about 86 billion neurons. Each neuron forms linked to other neurons, which could add up to 1 quadrillion that means 1,000 trillion connections. At the same, these neurons can combine to increase storage capacity. When a person suffers from Alzheimer’s disease, automatically many neurons can become damaged and stop working, this will particularly affect memory.
- Information travel: Commonly moving one object or any thing from one place to another place will take some time, We call that traveling time. Same way human information travels up to 431 kilometers per hour from the thinking organ to the body. When a neuron activity level is increased, it generates an electrical impulse that travels from one cell to another cell. While this process is getting disturbed, it will cause an epileptic seizure disorder.
- Main source of Communication: One Source or medium is an important thing to keep the communication very well between two places or positions. One of the main sources between the body and the brain is the spinal cord. In a person’s body on average, the spinal cord will stop growing at 4 years old. The spinal cord, consisting of a bundle of nervous tissue and support cells. These are responsible for transferring messages and signals throughout the body.
The organ is important in the human body, so people should take care of their organ health. Consuming alcohol, smoking habits and using illegal drugs will affect the function. So better to stay away from these habits will help to keep it active.Â
